It is getting closer and closer now. We have turrets that can now shoot you down, they are a bit more painful than the missiles.
I have to think of something better than SomeHelicopterGame - the level progression will have to be put in place, there are other things like, when you crash, before you are put on the screen missiles in flight have to be either removed or allowed to clear the board before re-placement. Splash Screen, credits, how to play slide show and score board.

Modified Turret Explosion to throw a little more fire, took some steps to limit the number of enemy bullets that can be on screen. Beware, when a turret is burning sometimes a random bullet will be fired into the air since there is a pile of ordinance on fire there.
Thanks :) Now I need to make the tank boss. My intention is to have the level repeat, but as it repeats more missile will launch, more bullets from the turrets will be allowed to fly. Not sure if anything other than Score, Fuel and High-score board need to happen for it.
I usually add those last, trying to come up with a boss, but I might scrap the tank idea cause I do not like how it is coming out, might hold off on that part and focus on the other parts.

Managed to hammer in a custom font, now I am not longer tied to what ever font is loaded onto players systems.
That did it. Check the ScoreBox class, I load a file called Overwrite.ttf to make use of custom font. Check project for location of Overwrite.ttf

Added Temporary Splash screen. Added ability to tilt the helicopter more if you press any one of these keys: Shift, Enter, Back Space, or Control you will add 10 degrees to your tilt; this will make hitting some targets easier.

Pause timer placed on screen after you die just so you get a couple seconds to focus on the screen

Minor glitch when holding spacebar down after last death games starts over, now you must release the spacebar and press it down again to restart game.
The destroyed turrets will still fire. A little annoying but when you figure out they can still fire you can avoid them (or not....crash and burn.....)
I was trying to make it fire randomly like a pile of ordnance burning in the turret, but sometimes it just makes a spray upwards that make it more dangerous than an active turret. I will try to fix that next, it will still shoot random bullets when burning, but at a much reduced frequency, or maybe that a turret can only throw off at most 2 random bullets while on fire.
The source is there, I usually always include source. It is easy to miss the little check box.

If you get to the end of the level then you land on the pad and you will repeat the level, each time the level is repeated more missiles will fire. Will work on a second level after a few little kinks are worked out.

Realy cool game, i love the background! The bomb and gun buttons should be different :) Mabey you have a limited amount of bombs and you can collect more?
Thanks! That is a good idea. I want to add more to this game. I was originally going to give limited fuel to the helicopter so you would have to shoot the fuel containers. I am drawing up a second level. Maybe I can add various play modes, let this mode be easy mode and harder modes make you pick up fuel and bombs.

A new level has been added, also a free guy is awarded at 50000 points. New enemy on the second level.
I thought this game deserved another level. :D I will make at least 1 more with 2 different enemies and if it turns out ok, I might try putting in the fuel gauge and power ups.
