logik

Some minor improvements. This Simulation can be edited while the Greenfoot environment is running. To start the simulation proper click on the start button on top.

For loading samples press "S" (small) or "L" (large).

Try this: Download source and work locally. You can save and load circuits, use the context menu of logikWelt.

Short instructions:

Greenfoot must be running wether you edit (grid showing) or simulate (white background).

While editing:

Move the mouse to the top of the grid, to display a palette with gates to pick from.
Move gates on the waste bin to delete or use the context menu (right click).

Drag from inputs(red) to outputs (green) and create leads to connect.
Right click on leads adds a (soldering) pad for connecting leads or to bend the leads. You can drag the pads for improving the layouts.

While running simply click on a switch to change its state.

This looks quite fascinating. I can't really figure out how to use it, though: How do I get wires between the components?

Excellent idea. And it works pretty well. I think I'd like it better if the gate palette were visible the whole time while you're in building mode (not just when the mouse moves up). Maybe it could have a different background to show that it's not part of the circuit. But it would be much clearer what to do.

Thank you, - and OK, the instructions are pretty short. To connect red inputs to green(or black) outputs simply drag from the input to the output. You get a wire (lead) as a straight line. Intentionally it is not possible to connect two outputs. Add pads later (right click on the wire). Try the letter L to get a working sample, an adder for two two-bit-numbers. I will think about the palette, actually I was proutd it worked and left more space for the circuit. What I am missing most, is a way to mark and drag (or even copy and paste) more than one gate.

Great idea, had a quick fiddle with the samples and looks good :) I'm not sure how I'd start on something like that :p
