Natural Selection

PROJECT TITLE: Natural Selection v1.0

DATE: 3/13/09

HOW TO START THIS PROJECT: Just press "Run." I've found the simulation works best
if the speed is set just under 2.

AUTHORS: JPW

USER INSTRUCTIONS:

This is a simulation of natural selection in camouflage. You
take the role of "predator", while the "critters"(dots) take the role of prey.
Click the critters that pop out to you as fast as you can. Every once in a while,
the surviving citters will reproduce and create offspring. These critters
have trisexual reproduction, getting their red hue from one parent, their green
hue from another parent, and their blue hue from a third parent. A parent can
contribute more than one hue, it's totally random.

This is just the first version. Mutation and other features
are not simulated yet, but planned.

Anyone is free to use this for educational and other non-profit purposes, just
let me know about it!

What a great idea. Fantastic way to show natural selection.

Great idea! I seem to subconsciously kill everything apart from the blue ones...

Thanks. Wish I could claim the idea, but my high school bio teacher had us doing it with construction paper and hole punchers 8 years ago.
