This is usually the result of a class of students learning Greenfoot, and being told about the upload mechanism at the end of the lesson. It's not something we view as a particular problem.
I thought the uploaded scenarios shouldn't be duped
either the classes case, or some guy is duping a load of the folders of the code, renaming, then reuploading. But probs the class thing. Hopfully they arent doing it on purpose just to be a neusance...
It was me. I was giving a Greenfoot class hours ago, and ask the students to upload their scenarios.
This will happen several times in this summer vacation. Sorry for any disturbance.
@imacat You might tell your students not to upload it, because multiple times the same code, not so special I think :)
There's no issue with having a class all upload their scenarios at once; it does flood the front page for a short time but that's really something we just have to live with. If it becomes a big problem we can try to look at solving it from our end (i.e. make the server recognize and deal with it) . But at the moment it happens only every now and then and that's fine.
It helps students to feel that they are contributing to the world and feel a sense of accomplishment if they can upload their work online. It is annoying, but it probably does more good for these students than it does bad by annoying us.
@davmac @Morran I know it isn't a problem for the servers, I'm just one of those people wo get a bit annoyed by those things.
@davmac, maybe you can make a new checkbutton in the uploader, something like "post on front page"
@SPower: First of all, not the same code. We have checked and discussed everyone's code on the class before the upload. They might have a same title, though.
Second, I would like them to join the Greenfoot online community in one way or another. When they see their projects appear on the front page they feel happy and participated.
Sorry for to annoy you. If you could comment on their projects instead of criticising them, that would be great.
@imacat I don't think SPower is meaning to criticize the projects or the students, he's just saying that he wishes there was a way to manage lots of uploads so that the front page isn't filled up.
@imacat maybe you could translate yedefei's comment?
@SPower: @yedefei said: “Hei hei, no worry, no worry. It's just learning……” ^^;
