Hi there, I have a quite weird problem with accents. I have one class that show a JFrame. If I run this class from Netbeans, I see correctly the characters: Example: Gestión, Matemáticas Hovewer if I run this class from Greenfoot I get incorrect characters. Example: Gestión, Matemáticas It's necessary some header or tag? Thanks, Regards, Juan.

Yeah, if you have a look at the strings in the text/source code of the Idiomas scenario here and after running the scenario, have a look at the output, you'll see an example of the same weird problem you encountered.

...and as reported in this thread it's a problem we believe was in place but is now solved. Are you using the latest version of Greenfoot?

I'm using the Greenfoot version 2.1.0 (Java version 1.6.0_20).

dothebone, if you recompile the Idiomas scenario with Greenfoot version 2.1.0 it will work fine. You must recompile though!

No matter how many times I recompile, the output doesn't presents the characters correct on the screen. What else could be the problem?

I see the Idiomas scenario the same way that dothbone, I'm working with Greenfoot version 2.1.0 (Java version 1.6.0_26). I have tried on XP and 7 Windows System.

Ok, I have to apologize. I just tried this again with Greenfoot 2.1.0 on Windows (previously I was on Linux) and I get the same problem as you describe. However, we are going to release a new Greenfoot version quite soon, and I have already tested it on Windows, and the problem is gone.

Bizarre with - 2.1 on Windows it seems to work fine for me!

That is quite strange... Anyway, having reviewed the repository history, there have definitely been some character encoding issues fixed between the last release (2.1.0) and now. I'm quite confident that it should work ok for everyone once 2.1.1 is released.

Hey thanx, but the Idiomas scenario here at the Greenfoot site does not show us a result of fixed character encoding issues in fact. So what's next?

OK davmac. But why dont you communicate directly that it's not only a matter of recompiling, but also re-uploading???

Sorry dothebone, I thought that was obvious. You can't change a scenario (on the gallery) without re-uploading it.
