Well you can take a look at mine it uses a class I found somewhere called Animation which uses AnimatedActor by greenfoot which makes a animated smurf as I walk left and right xD http://www.greenfoot.org/scenarios/4852 Source code is also available :) If you want the background to move with character as he walks then search mario someone has a good game of where they have put this into practice it's not hard to miss lol
