I downloaded the standalone version which has its own JDK file so i dont see why it still requests for one when i try to run it. Anyway Ive downloaded the JDK file version 7 and the stand alone, compressed it and put them all in one file. Still nothing but a green foot image staring at me. HELP!

What do you mean you 'compressed it and put them all in one file'? You need to do only two things: 1) Install the JDK 2) Install Greenfoot No need to compress things, move things around, 'put them in one file' etc. If you have problems please contact support.
