When the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan in 1979, I joined the Afghan resistance. After the Soviet withdrawal, I formed the al-Qaeda network which carried out global strikes against Western interests, culminating in the September 11th, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
